Basketball Recap: Munford Comes Up Short

Munford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Central of Clay County Volunteers, falling 48-15. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 358th, while the Volunteers are ranked 106th).

Among those leading the charge was Mia Lindsey, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 12 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Nariah Brock, who posted eight points.

Munford's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Central of Clay County, their record is now 15-6.

Both are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Munford is taking a road trip to square off against Anniston at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Central of Clay County has already played their next match (against Shelby County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
