Volleyball Recap: Altamont Comes Up Short

Altamont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Piute Thunderbirds. The Longhorns were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Thunderbirds apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Altamont started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-23, 26-24, 25-19.

Altamont's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Piute, they pushed their record up to 6-9 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Altamont will venture away from home to face off against Union at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Piute, they will head out to take on Bryce Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
