Recap: Moundridge Wildcats vs. Bennington Bulldogs

It was a good run, but the Moundridge Wildcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Bennington by a score of 62-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Moundridge lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Bear Moddelmog, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds. Henry Hecox was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.

Eli Lawson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Bennington, dropping a double-double on 39 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lawson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mister Smith, who scored six points along with six rebounds.

Moundridge dropped their record down to 12-3 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Bennington, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

Moundridge won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Trinity at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th. One thing working in Moundridge's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests. As for Bennington, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Remington at 4:30 p.m. on February 9th. Bennington is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 60.9 points per game this season.
