Basketball Game Preview: California Lutheran C-Hawks vs. United Christian Academy Eagles

California Lutheran and United Christian Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. Having just played yesterday, the California Lutheran C-Hawks will get right back to it and host the United Christian Academy Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. California Lutheran is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65.6 points per game this season.

California Lutheran is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing California School for the Deaf-Riverside: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that California Lutheran blew California School for the Deaf-Riverside out of the water with a 71-35 final score. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the C-Hawks had established a 23 point advantage.

California Lutheran's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Tyler Treder, who dropped a double-double on 35 points and 14 rebounds, and Ethan Ash, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 17 boards. The matchup was Ash's 23rd in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Leo Kinner, who posted five points and seven assists.

Meanwhile, United Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by La Sierra Academy and fell 78-40.

United Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for California Lutheran, their victory bumped their record up to 12-8.

Everything came up roses for California Lutheran against United Christian Academy in their previous meeting on January 9th, as the team secured a 73-22 win. In that game, California Lutheran amassed a halftime lead of 33-10, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
