Recap: Dymally Challengers vs. Sotomayor Wolves

The Dymally Challengers lost against the Sotomayor Wolves back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Dymally ended up on the wrong side of a tough 68-44 walloping at the hands of Sotomayor.

Dymally's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gerald Coland, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amonte Mobley, who scored 12 points.

Matthew Hernandez was the offensive standout of the contest as he scored 12 points along with four steals. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Bryan Hernandez, who scored six points along with ten rebounds.

Dymally's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Sotomayor, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-5.

Dymally is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Dr. Maya Angelou Community at 2:30 p.m. on January 2nd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Dr. Maya Angelou Community is ranked 1125th, while Dymally is ranked 1108th). Sotomayor and Grant will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Grant focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday.
