Flag Football Recap: San Ysidro Piles Up the Points Against Castle Park

There's no place like home for San Ysidro, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They blew past the Castle Park Trojans, posting a 32-0 win. Considering the Cougars have won five contests by more than 31 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Vida Sanchez had another great game (as she tends to do), rushing for 94 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing for 241 yards and one TD while completing 83.3% of her passes. Those three rushing touchdowns gave her a new career-high. A healthy portion of Sanchez's aerial production (92 yards to be exact) went to Kristine Fadriquela, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

San Ysidro's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 3.6 points on average over those games. As for Castle Park, their loss dropped their record down to 7-2.

San Ysidro didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 56-0 victory against Monte Vista on the 18th. As for Castle Park, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 7-6 win against Southwest SD on the 23rd.
