Softball Recap: Ross Takes a Loss

Ross extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 11-14 in the process. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Napoleon Wildcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Little Giants have suffered since April 23rd.

As for Napoleon, their win bumped their record up to 11-15-1. The victory continues a trend for them in their matchups with Ross: they've now won four in a row.

For Napoleon's part, Kendall Horner (Jr) spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on seven hits and racked up nine Ks. Horner (Jr) has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Napoleon's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Faith Rubinstein (Jr), who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Looking ahead, Ross will be playing in front of their home fans against Northview at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Napoleon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
