Williams Valley and Minersville pushed the score to 8-0 the last time they played Minersville, but on Tuesday defenses reigned supreme. The Vikings took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Battlin' Miners. Williams Valley's defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Williams Valley's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Minersville, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-1-2 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Williams Valley is set to challenge their familiar foe Schuylkill Haven at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Minersville will face off against rival Tamaqua at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
