McAdory won against Hillcrest last Wednesday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The McAdory Yellowjackets skirted past the Hoover Buccaneers 5-3. The win was nothing new for the Yellowjackets as they're now sitting on four straight.
Pearl Ryan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, McAdory's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Josie Mahaffey, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another was Kaileigh Forbes, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
McAdory's record now sits at 4-1. As for Hoover, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.
Coming up, McAdory will be playing at home against Gardendale at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hoover, they will be taking part in a tournament against Sparkman at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
