Volleyball Recap: Start's Win Ends Eight-Game Losing Streak at Home

Start proved they can win big on Friday (they won by three) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Anthony Wayne Generals, sneaking past 2-1. This was payback for the Spartans, who suffered a 3-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Start had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-18, 15-11.

Kaden Baker paced Start's offense, picking up 11 kills. Baker got some help from Jaden Brunt and his ten assists. Felix Morales controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.

Start's victory ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-0.

Coincidentally, Start and Anthony Wayne will both be playing Swanton the next time they take the court. Start will host Swanton at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Anthony Wayne will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
