Basketball Recap: Amanda Elzy Takes a Loss

Amanda Elzy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 44-43 heartbreaker at the hands of the Humphreys County Cowboys. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cowboys apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Amanda Elzy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Humphreys County, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-12 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Amanda Elzy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Yazoo County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Humphreys County, they and Greenwood will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played.
