Recap: Notre Dame Prep Saints vs. Casteel Colts

Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up nine more assists than your opponent, a fact the Notre Dame Prep Saints proved on Saturday. Everything went their way against Casteel as Notre Dame Prep made off with a 56-34 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Notre Dame Prep.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Notre Dame Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ava Pautz, who shot 4-for-6 from long range and dropped a double-double on 22 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Pautz has scored at least 25% of Notre Dame Prep's points. Brooke Nowak was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.

Casteel's loss came despite strong showings from Jackie Rosado and Ava Lewis. Rosado scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals, while Lewis dropped a double-double on 11 points and 10 rebounds. Rosado is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Amanda Anderson, who scored 6 points.

Notre Dame Prep now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Casteel, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Notre Dame Prep will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Williams Field at 7:00 p.m. on November 29th. Williams Field will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Notre Dame Prep is ranked 28th). As for Casteel, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Paradise Valley at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Paradise Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Monday.
