Volleyball Recap: Chugiak Mustangs vs. Dimond Lynx

Chugiak and Dimond squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Chugiak had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Lynx by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the seventh time they've come up short against the Lynx this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-0 defeat last Saturday.

Chugiak's offense was headlined by Elise Kelley and Audrey Parks, who picked up 15 kills apiece. They got some help from Oliviya Rodriguez and her 49 assists. Kinley Jo Adams controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

This is the second loss in a row for Chugiak and nudges their season record down to 33-17-1. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 36-18-2 Colony (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 69.4% over those games). As for Dimond, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 38-14-1.

Chugiak does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Dimond, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Colony on the 15th.
