Softball Game Preview: South Greene Rebels vs. Chuckey-Doak Black Knights

South Greene is 8-2 against Chuckey-Doak since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Rebels will be playing at home against the Black Knights at 5:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

South Greene had been on a four-game streak of scoring at least ten runs, but North Greene put an end to it on Wednesday. The Rebels came up short against the Huskies, falling 15-2. The Rebels' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

South Greene saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kortnei Bailey, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-1. Bailey has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last four times she's played.

Meanwhile, Chuckey-Doak was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 19-7 to Hampton. That's two games in a row now that the Black Knights have lost by exactly 12 runs.

South Greene's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Chuckey-Doak, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

South Greene took their victory against Chuckey-Doak when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 12-4 score. Will the Rebels repeat their success, or do the Black Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
