Football Game Preview: Central Cobras vs. Wellington Wolverines

The Central Cobras will head out to challenge the Wellington Wolverines at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Central is coming into the game hot, having won their last 14 games.

Central is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They walked away with a 28-20 victory over Palm Beach Gardens.

Meanwhile, Wellington faced Harmony in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Wolverines snuck past the Longhorns with a 25-20 win. The victory was nothing new for the Wolverines as they're now sitting on five straight.

Central's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.3 points over those games. As for Wellington, their win bumped their record up to 15-1.

Central came up short against Wellington when the teams last played back in May of 2024, falling 12-7. Can the Cobras avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
