The Campolindo Cougars will head out to challenge the Vintage Crushers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Vintage took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Campolindo, who comes in off a win.
Campolindo barely beat Pinole Valley the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Campolindo was the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over Pinole Valley on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won six in a row.

Campolindo got a great performance from Dom Caruso as he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk). The dominant performance gave Caruso a new career-high in strikeouts.
At the plate, Blake Robison and Max Olson did most of the damage at the plate: Robison went 3-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one run, while Olson scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits Robison has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Fischer, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Vintage scored the most runs they've had this season on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 11-8 to Maria Carrillo. The Crushers have struggled against the Pumas recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.
Riley Marek and Blake Porter stepped up to the plate in a big way. Marek scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Porter scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Porter is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Sam Mautner also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Even though they lost, Vintage was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Maria Carrillo only posted a batting average of .296.
Vintage suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 2-2. As for Campolindo, their record now sits at 2-0.
Campolindo couldn't quite finish off Vintage in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 and fell 6-4. Can Campolindo avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
