Soccer Game Preview: Smithsburg vs. Boonsboro

The Smithsburg Leopards will take on the Boonsboro Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Smithsburg has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 6th.

Smithsburg fell victim to Walkersville and their airtight defense on Thursday. They came up short against the Lions, falling 3-0. That's two games in a row now that Smithsburg have lost by exactly three goals.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Boonsboro and Clear Spring, and Clear Spring kept the tradition alive. The Warriors lost 8-0 to the Blazers on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Boonsboro can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland soccer rankings (they are ranked 112th, while Clear Spring are ranked 28th).

Boonsboro's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Smithsburg, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Smithsburg beat Boonsboro by a goal when the teams last played on September 6th, winning 3-2. Will the Leopards repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
