Basketball Recap: Sonora Gets the Win

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Sonora ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top against the Orestimba Warriors by a score of 51-44. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Warriors back in January, they had to take a 37-35 defeat.

Sonora found their leader in sophomore Isabella Ahrens, who posted 23 points. Ahrens continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Taylor Faught was another key player, putting up nine points.

Despite the loss, Orestimba still got an impressive performance from Ashlynn Bell, who went 8 of 15 to rack up 19 points.

Sonora's win bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Orestimba, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-10.

Sonora didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 45-42 victory against Hilmar on the 4th. As for Orestimba, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 33-26 loss against Ripon on the 4th.
