Baseball Recap: Wooster Has No Trouble Against Sparks

Wooster never let their opponents score on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Sparks Railroaders. The Colts haven't had any issues with the Railroaders recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Cooper Fuss made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Wooster is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 7-8-1 otherwise. Fuss was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Rowan Andersen was a standout: he scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-2. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Chris Ballard was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

Wooster kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are 7-2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Wooster's record is now 10-8-1. As for Sparks, they dropped their record down to 1-18 with the defeat, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wooster will host Hug at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Colts are facing the Hawks at the right time seeing as the Hawks are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Sparks, they will welcome Portola at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
