Volleyball Recap: Middletown Middies vs. Fairfield Indians
Middletown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Fairfield Indians. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Middies of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2023.
Fairfield found their leader in underclassman Rose Rodriguez, who had six aces and four digs. Those six aces set a new season-high mark for Rodriguez.
Middletown's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Fairfield, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Middletown will face off against Oak Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fairfield, they have the luxury of staying home for another game and will welcome Sycamore at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
