Basketball Game Preview: Westminster Christian Warriors vs. St. Brendan Sabres

Westminster Christian is 1-8 against St. Brendan since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Westminster Christian Warriors will be playing at home against the St. Brendan Sabres at 12:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Westminster Christian is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest defeat since January 4th on Thursday. They lost 71-46 to Mater Lakes Academy. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 294th, while the Bears are ranked 68th).

Meanwhile, St. Brendan had to suffer through a 62-24 loss at the hands of Ferguson. The Sabres have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

They used a three-pronged attack on offense: Claudia Luis, Bella Perez, and Gia Patchen posted four points each.

St. Brendan's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Westminster Christian, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-9.

Westminster Christian suffered a grim 56-35 defeat to St. Brendan in their previous matchup back in November of 2023. Thankfully for Westminster Christian, Jaden Castro (who posted 25 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
