Salem is 9-1 against Clarksville since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Lions will challenge the Generals at 5:30 p.m. Salem will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Salem not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 10th (when they won 16-1). They put the hurt on Borden with a sharp 15-5 win. With that victory, the Lions brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
Adison Feist made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched five innings while giving up five earned runs off five hits. Feist was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

In other batting news, Rachel Little and Kenadie Garloch did most of the damage at the plate: Little got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Garloch got on base in two of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave Little a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Claire Motsinger, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Salem always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Borden only posted an OBP of .286.
Meanwhile, Clarksville had just enough and edged out South Central 2-1 on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Generals.
Aaliyah Watts spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tiarra Lewis, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Clarksville's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-8. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Salem, their record is now 10-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Salem has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Clarksville struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Salem's way against Clarksville when the teams last played on May 1st, as Salem made off with a 10-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
