Basketball Recap: Sutton Takes a Loss

Sutton lost against Milford last Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Sutton Mustangs came up short against the Milford Eagles, falling 61-37. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 66th, while the Eagles are ranked eighth).

Sutton moved to 15-6 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Milford, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sutton will take on Wilber-Clatonia at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sutton is facing Wilber-Clatonia at the right time seeing as Wilber-Clatonia is stuck on a 20-game losing streak. As for Milford, they will challenge Thayer Central at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Milford's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten matches.
