Volleyball Game Preview: Benjamin Franklin Chargers vs. ALA - Anthem South Titans

The Benjamin Franklin Chargers are taking a road trip to take on the ALA - Anthem South Titans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Benjamin Franklin has three straight victories, ALA - Anthem South has 20 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Benjamin Franklin proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a set and slipped past Valley Christian 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Chargers have posted since March 8, 2024.

Benjamin Franklin had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 20-25, 25-19, 26-24, 15-10.

Benjamin Franklin relied on the efforts of Brigg DeMarco, who had 12 digs and two blocks, and Coleson Bowen, who had 35 digs and two assists. What's more, DeMarco posted two kills, the most he's had over his last 11 contests.

Meanwhile, ALA - Anthem South lost 3-0 to Leading Edge Academy - GEC on Tuesday.

ALA - Anthem South's loss dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Benjamin Franklin, their victory bumped their record up to 14-10.
