Kouts won the last time they faced Knox, and Bella Birky did her part to make sure it happened again. The Mustangs & Fillies were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Redskins on Wednesday thanks in part to Birky, who had 16 digs and six aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 14 games she's played dating back to last season.

The match was exciting from start to finish, as two sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 26-24, 29-27.

Despite the loss, Knox saw an underclassman step up: freshman Zoe Bullington had 11 digs and two aces. Those 11 digs set a new season-high mark for Bullington.

Kouts now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Knox, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Coming up, Kouts is taking a road trip to take on South Newton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Knox, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Central at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
