Football Game Preview: Canyon Cowboys vs. Hart Hawks + Official Tickets

Canyon is 0-10 against Hart since October of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Cowboys will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hawks at 7:00 p.m. Canyon has given up an average of 37.1 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Canyon is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Valencia on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Cowboys took a blow against the Vikings, falling 55-3. The Cowboys were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-3.

Meanwhile, Hart came tearing into Friday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points), and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Coyotes 49-0. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by 42 points or more this season.

Hart's win came from a few key players Canyon will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Matix Frithsmith, who picked up 132 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 46 yards and two TDs. He is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jacob Paisano, who gained 293 total yards.

Hart was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 222 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 153 rushing yards in five consecutive contests.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Hart, racking up 13 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Devin Thompson, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Hart's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Canyon, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Canyon might still be hurting after the 61-40 defeat they got from Hart in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Cowboys, Zach Rogozik (who rushed for 197 yards and six scores while picking up 12.3 yards per carry, and also picked up 122 receiving yards and one TD) won't be suiting up this time.
