Baseball Recap: Watseka Takes a Loss

Watseka made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Herscher, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Warriors fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 7-5 on Wednesday. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Watseka saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Galyen, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. The Warriors are 2-1 when Galyen posts two or more runs, but 2-9 otherwise. Another was Seth Dirks, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Watseka's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Herscher, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 21-4.

Coming up, Watseka will face off against Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Chrisman at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Herscher, they will be playing at home against Beecher at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
