Elizabeth had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Eaton Reds on Saturday as they made off with a 35-13 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Cardinals, who have now won six contests in a row.

It was another big night for Griffin Widhalm, who rushed for 125 yards and three scores on only ten carries, and also threw for 48 yards and one TD while completing 75% of his passes. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 74-yard run. Another player making a difference was Tristan McCray, who rushed for 91 yards and one touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Elizabeth was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 316 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 166 rushing yards in nine consecutive matchups.

Eaton's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Max Blaskowski, who picked up 87 receiving yards and one TD.

Elizabeth's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Eaton, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-4.

Elizabeth has already played their next game, a 35-0 defeat against Wellington on the 29th. Eaton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
