Baseball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Culver City's Tenth in Last 12 Outings

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Redondo Union, Culver City was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Centennial Apaches a 22-0 shutout. Considering the Centaurs have won seven games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Devin Asamura-Halll and Nolan Riesenberg did most of the damage at the plate: Asamura-Halll scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Riesenberg scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave Riesenberg a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Axel Anderson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Culver City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .931. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Culver City is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Centennial, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.
