Basketball Recap: Richfield Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

Richfield extended their home winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Aniiya Johnson. The Richfield Spartans came out on top against the Academy of Holy Angels Stars by a score of 71-59 on Saturday thanks in part to Johnson, who went 9 of 17 on her way to 26 points. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game.

Richfield is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Academy of Holy Angels, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 9-5.

Richfield and Academy of Holy Angels should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings. Richfield (ranked 54th) will meet Robbinsdale Cooper (ranked 280th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Richfield is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.3 points per game this season. Similarly, Academy of Holy Angels will take on Fridley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday up 117 places (93 vs. 210).
