Basketball Game Preview: Plateau Valley Cowboys vs. North Park Wildcats

The Plateau Valley Cowboys will square off against the North Park Wildcats at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Plateau Valley is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Cedaredge just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Tuesday. The matchup between Plateau Valley and the Bruins didn't end well, with Plateau Valley falling 45-26.

Meanwhile, North Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat. They took a 40-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of Soroco.

Plateau Valley's loss dropped their record down to 15-6. As for North Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-19.

Plateau Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over North Park in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 46-35. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was North Park's Dezirae Gonzales, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Now that she won't be playing on Saturday, will it be easier for Plateau Valley to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
