Preview: Kalaheo Mustangs vs. Kahuku Red Raiders
Kalaheo is 1-9 against Kahuku since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Kalaheo Mustangs will head out on the road to square off against the Kahuku Red Raiders at 6:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Kalaheo comes in on six and Kahuku on seven.
Last Thursday, Kalaheo faced Kaimuki in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Kalaheo came out on top in a nail-biter against Kaimuki and snuck past 64-61. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Kalaheo has posted yet this season.
Meanwhile, even though Moanalua scored an imposing 58 points on Thursday, Kahuku still came out on top. Kahuku walked away with a 67-58 victory over Moanalua.
Kalaheo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-16 record this season. As for Kahuku, they pushed their record up to 16-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Kalaheo came up short against Kahuku in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 64-54. Can Kalaheo avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
