Pleasant View Christian comes up short despite Hollynn Carney's strong performance

Recap: Pleasant View Christian Warriors vs. South Haven Christian

If the Pleasant View Christian Warriors were riding high off their 62-17 takedown of the Victory Baptist Academy Patriots on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Pleasant View Christian took a 65-51 bruising from South Haven Christian on Tuesday. Pleasant View Christian has struggled against South Haven Christian recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Pleasant View Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Hollynn Carney. Despite the final result, she scored 23 points along with seven steals. Carney has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gwen Carr, who scored 13 points along with two steals.

Pleasant View Christian struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as South Haven Christian pulled down 21 offensive rebounds.

Aliya Gagliano was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 37 points and 13 rebounds for South Haven Christian. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gagliano has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Alexis Palmore, who scored eight points along with ten assists and two steals.

Pleasant View Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for South Haven Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-11 record this season.

Pleasant View Christian and Franklin Road Christian will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Franklin Road Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten last Friday. South Haven Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
