Soccer Recap: Durham Academy Picks Up Fourth Straight Win on the Road

Durham Academy proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Ravenscroft Ravens. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Durham Academy's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 53rd, while Ravenscroft are ranked 241st).

Pieter Sauer and Jack Rand scored both of Durham Academy's goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.

Durham Academy's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four contests. As for Ravenscroft, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
