Volleyball Recap: Union Grove's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

Union Grove and Oak Creek squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Union Grove had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. The Broncos were not able to make up for their defeat to the Knights from their previous meeting back in October of 2022.

Despite the loss, Union Grove saw an underclassman step up: freshman Karis Tucker had 12 digs and three assists.

Among those leading the charge was Claire Mank, who had 11 digs and four aces. That's the most digs she has posted over her last seven matchups.

Union Grove moved to 18-21 with that defeat, which also ended their three-match winning streak. As for Oak Creek, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 30-16.

Union Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Oak Creek, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Indian Trail on the 1st.
