Baseball Recap: Five Straight Road Victories for Chester

Chester had won five straight on the road, but on Tuesday they bumped their record up to 10-11 to make it six. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 win over the Okawville Rockets. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Yellowjackets have posted against the Rockets since March 31, 2022.

Not much got past Evan Dunning, who gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Okawville off the board. Dunning also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Chester is 4-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 6-9 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ethan Colvis, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Alex Blechle was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.

As for Okawville, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss they have suffered since May 15, 2024.

On Okawville's side, Aidan Anderson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits.
