Baseball Game Preview: Rumson-Fair Haven Bulldogs vs. Southern Regional Rams

The Rumson-Fair Haven Bulldogs will take on the Southern Regional Rams on Saturday. Southern Regional took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Rumson-Fair Haven, who comes in off a win.

Rumson-Fair Haven came out on top against Toms River East on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Bulldogs narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Raiders 7-6. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Brady Dill looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has become a key player for Rumson-Fair Haven: the team is 6-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-7-2 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Miles Martin, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Shenman, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Meanwhile, Southern Regional was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 12-1 to St. John-Vianney. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Rams have suffered since April 9th.

Rumson-Fair Haven's victory bumped their record up to 12-8-2. As for Southern Regional, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.
