Basketball Recap: Palmetto Christian Academy Starts Season with Win Against Cathedral Academy

Palmetto Christian Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They blew past the Cathedral Academy Generals 52-31. That's more bragging rights for Palmetto Christian Academy, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Palmetto Christian Academy was led to victory by Adelaide Suddeth and Anna Grace Works. Suddeth almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds, while Works dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance also gave Suddeth a new career-high in assists (four). Audrey Bright was another key player, putting up six points and four steals.

Cathedral Academy's loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Palmetto Christian Academy will take on Wando in a tournament on Friday. As for Cathedral Academy, they have already played their next contest, a 65-25 victory against Ashley Hall on the 18th.
