Softball Recap: Monticello Comes Up Short

Monticello blew Becker out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Becker got their revenge. The Magic fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 3-1. The Magic were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Josi Ordorff spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits.

At the plate, Monticello saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma McLoed, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Monticello now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Becker, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monticello will face off against Princeton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Becker, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Annandale at 5:00 p.m.
