Jefferson County extends road losing streak to seven

Recap: Jefferson County Tigers vs. Lafayette Hornets

The Jefferson County Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their seventh straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 88-54 loss at the hands of Lafayette. Jefferson County has not had much luck with Lafayette recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Lafayette's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tywan Williamson, who scored 23 points along with eight assists and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williamson has scored all season. Jalen Hill was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 21 rebounds.

Jefferson County bumped their record down to 1-11 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Lafayette, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jefferson County will face off against Wakulla Christian School at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lafayette won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Hamilton County at 8:00 p.m. on January 19th.
