Softball Recap: New Life Academy Eagles vs. Mayer Lutheran Crusaders

The New Life Academy Eagles lost 9-1 to the Mayer Lutheran Crusaders on Saturday.

Ashlyn Croon was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and seven unearned) runs off nine hits. Croon has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings every time she's pitched this season. Croon was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Like New Life Academy, Mayer Lutheran also got a great game from a two-way player: McKenzie Mitteness.
