Preview: Teague Lions vs. Buffalo Bison
Teague and Buffalo are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Teague Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Buffalo Bison at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Teague focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
Teague suffered their biggest defeat since December 12, 2023 on Friday. Their tough 72-50 loss to Westwood might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Teague can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1010th, while Westwood is ranked 308th).
Teague's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Joshua Owens, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and three blocks, and Jkybryen Harris who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Owens has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kemauri Evans, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Buffalo earned a 52-39 win over Elkhart on Wednesday. The win was just what Buffalo needed coming off of a 100-45 loss in their prior game.
Teague has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Buffalo, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-16.
Teague didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Buffalo when the teams last played back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 54-49 victory. Will Teague repeat their success, or does Buffalo have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
