Volleyball Recap: Grand Traverse Academy Takes a Loss

Grand Traverse Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Baldwin Panthers. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Grand Traverse Academy was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-19.

Yasmina Bourdkani paced Grand Traverse Academy's offense, picking up two kills. Bourdkani got some help from Zeeva VanWingerden and her four assists. Shania Paul controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Grand Traverse Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-14-1. As for Baldwin, with the win, they broke their eight-match losing streak and moved their record to 3-15.

Coming up, Grand Traverse Academy will square off against Buckley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Baldwin, they will challenge Pentwater at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
