Football Recap: ThunderRidge Takes a Loss + How To Watch

ThunderRidge faced Mountain Vista in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Grizzlies were beaten by the Golden Eagles 41-13. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Grizzlies, who until this match were averaging 13.5 points allowed.

Although ThunderRidge took the loss, they still got scores from Cassidy Beliing and Jordyn Cochran.

Even if they lost, ThunderRidge's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Meredith O'Neil was especially locked on to Mountain Vista's QB and sacked her twice.

Ariana Akey had another great game (as she tends to do), rushing for 119 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry, and also throwing for 233 yards and four TDs for Mountain Vista. That's the most rushing yards Akey has posted since back in September of 2024. Mountain Vista's leading receiver Kayleigh Besch was Akey's top target yet again, picking up 95 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

ThunderRidge's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Mountain Vista, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.

ThunderRidge has already played their next contest, a 6-0 victory against Arapahoe on the 9th. As for Mountain Vista, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 40-6 win against Chaparral on the 8th.
