Basketball Game Preview: Lausanne Collegiate Lynx vs. PURE Academy Royals

Having just played yesterday, the Lausanne Collegiate Lynx will jump right back in to play the PURE Academy Royals at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lausanne Collegiate has five straight victories, PURE Academy has nine straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

While Lausanne Collegiate didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past Jefferson, posting an 80-36 win. The Lynx have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 24 points or more this season.

Lausanne Collegiate got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Imir 'Trey' Harper out in front who went 6-for-8 to rack up 18 points and three steals. Harper has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. Another player making a difference was Patrick Thompson, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 21 points.

Meanwhile, PURE Academy was beaten by Pope John Paul II 69-32 on Saturday. The matchup marked the Royals' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

PURE Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Lausanne Collegiate, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.
