            Football Recap: Carroll Tigers vs. Calallen Wildcats        
        
		
        
        
            Carroll was the  27-21 winner over Calallen when they last played one another  back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Tigers fell  26-21 to the Wildcats on Thursday. While the Tigers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wildcats  14-7 in the first  quarter.
 Nate Bazan threw for 174 yards  on 16 of 30 attempts.   Braylen Swanson was his top target, picking up 91 receiving yards.  On the ground,  Sebastian Robles rushed for 46 yards.
  Ricardo Rodrguez continued  his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Calallen, rushing for 121 yards and two  scores. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget  Reese Rusher, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.
This is the second loss in a row for Carroll and  nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Calallen, the  victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.
 Carroll didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  28-14  win against Tuloso-Midway on the 26th. As for Calallen, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next  game,  a  43-36  victory against Rockport-Fulton on the 26th.
