Gardena and Fremont are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2015, but likely not for long. The Panthers will face off against the Pathfinders at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. Gardena is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.

Gardena's tournament run continued when they took on Chavez on Saturday. The Panthers took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles.

Derek Norris and Francisco Pavon stepped up to the plate in a big way. Norris scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2, while Pavon went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Fremont didn't have quite enough to beat Harbor Teacher on Thursday and fell 6-5. The loss continues a trend for the Pathfinders in their meetings with the Monarchs: they've now lost three in a row.

Pedro Coranado was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. James Harris was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Gardena's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Fremont, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.

Gardena came out on top in a nail-biter against Fremont in their previous matchup back in March, sneaking past 3-1. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Pathfinders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
