Crystal Lake Central is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Central on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Tigers were outmatched by the Rockets and fell 41-6. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 290th, while the Rockets are ranked 47th).

Meanwhile, McHenry came up short against Huntley on Friday and fell 48-36.

Crystal Lake Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for McHenry, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Crystal Lake Central strolled past McHenry when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a score of 21-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
