Volleyball Game Preview: Darlington Tigers vs. Greater Atlanta Christian Spartans

The Darlington Tigers will square off against the Greater Atlanta Christian Spartans on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Darlington is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They came out on top against Whitefield Academy by a score of 3-1. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the WolfPack recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Darlington was especially dominant in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-19, 19-25, 25-15.

Darlington had a senior duo take command as Isabella Rogers had 13 digs and three aces and Bradford Middleton had nine digs and three aces. Rogers is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Darlington was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 19 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Meanwhile, Greater Atlanta Christian made easy work of Christian Heritage on Wednesday and carried off a 3-0 victory.

Darlington better focus on containing Mayer Hall and Amyra Burchik as the pair were huge in Greater Atlanta Christian's win. Hall had ten digs and two assists, while Burchik hit 64.7% for 23 kills and nine digs and seven aces. With that strong performance, Burchik is now averaging an impressive 2.1 aces per game.

Darlington's win bumped their record up to 35-7. As for Greater Atlanta Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 25-13.

Darlington couldn't quite get it done against Greater Atlanta Christian when the teams last played back in August of 2015 as they fell 2-0. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
