Basketball Recap: Otis Comes Up Short

Otis suffered their biggest defeat since February 23, 2024 on Saturday. They had to suffer through a 65-36 loss at the hands of the Fleming Wildcats. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-9.

Despite the loss, Otis had strong showings from Madelyn Willeke, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards, and Aedyn Tribelhorn, who posted nine points along with seven rebounds and six assists. The dominant performance also gave Tribelhorn a new career-high in blocks (three).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fleming to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ciana Lousberg, who went 6 of 10 on her way to 13 points and seven rebounds. Brooke Schaefer was another key player, putting up 15 points and four steals.

Otis has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Fleming, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Otis will challenge Haxtun at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fleming, they will square off against Prairie at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
